Matt Britton is an award-winning theatre-maker with over 25 years industry experience.

As former artistic director of In Yer Face Theatre Co, he forged a reputation for staging theatre in non-theatre spaces and engaging audiences and participants with restricted access to the arts. His work is committed to social change, cultural transformation and the empowerment of the oppressed.

He creates inclusive projects, working with diverse participants, improving wellbeing, confidence and transformation.

His innovative performances are hard-hitting, imaginative, and deeply spiritual, exploring themes of redemption and justice.

As an actor he has performed on commercial stage, radio and television, with his self-penned ‘in bloom’ winning a BBC playwright award. He is happiest creating theatre for and with prisons, churches, communities, and young people.

Married with four children, Matt currently teaches acting, creative writing and theatre-in-prison to undergraduates at Arden School of Theatre, Manchester. He’s both a Man Utd fan and a believer in restorative justice- the two may very well be connected!
